I’m tired and a little uninspired today, so instead of doing a real blog post, here’s another Half-Life 2 video about 100 different ways to die in Garry’s Mod. I especially like any method with numerous explosions for no apparent reason. Watch out for attacking melons!
As you may or may not know, today is Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday. In celebration of said event, my favorite morning radio show The Kevin and Bean Show made a song called “Martin Luther King Jr. Spooks”. A running gag of the show has been editing the old Halloween classic Halloween Spooks to fit whatever the current holiday is. In the past they have done versions for Thanksgiving (Thanksgiving Spooks) and Hanukkah (Hanukkah Jews).
Well apparently black folk don’t have a sense of humor. It seems like all five black people that listen to the rock station (myself excluded) called in to complain that the song was offensive towards the great civil rights leader. Even though the song does not include the word “spook”, one caller said the word caused her to associated MLK in black face and red lips being lynched. Are black people just looking for reasons to be upset? It’s a gag the show has been doing for months and there wasn’t anything racist or offensive about it. Stop getting your panties in a bunch.
